Family Life Office for the Hartford Archdiocese

The Marriage & Family Apostolate - commonly called the Family Life Office - is an agency of the Archdiocese of Hartford that serves as a resource to families and parishes that work with them. 

Along with resources and counseling referrals for families affected by unemployment, abuses or other stresses, FLO supports all aspects of Christian family life by offering a wide range of services and programs.

Engaged Couples Deanery Conferences
Engaged Couples Deanery Conferences (formerly known as Pre-Cana) are a single 5 hour session given on a Deanery (10-15 parishes) basis, Pre-registration is required.

Engaged Encounter Weekends
Runs from 7:30PM on Friday through Sunday afternoon. A quality couple experience that is highly rated by its participants.

Conference for Second Marriages
A single session conference focusing on the unique situations confronted when one or both parties are entering into a second marriage.

Marriage Support Programs
FLO offers the Retrouvaille program to aid hurting marriages and a referral to Marriage Encounter to help make good mariages better.

Family Programs
Addressing ways to build stonger, more spiritual families. Articles on parenting, building spirituality, and having fun!

Online Articles
Online articles for building family spirituality

Project Rachel
A confidential service offered to those who have obtained an abortion.

Bereaved
Ministry for the Bereaved For those who are mourning the loss of a loved one through death, the following aids are available:
  • Support Groups
  • Seminars - especially "New Day"
  • Retreats and Days of Prayer
  • Conferences - National, Regional, and Local
  • Parish talks and parish presentations
  • Leadership training for Parish Bereaved Ministries

Ministry for the Separated or Divorced
For those who are mourning the loss of a relationship because of separation or divorce, the following aids are available:
  • Support Groups
  • Seminars - especially "New Life"
  • Retreats and Days of Prayer
  • Conferences - National, Regional, and Local
  • Parish talks and parish presentations
  • Leadership training for Parish Divorced Ministries
